Over the two days, you will learn:
- The history and purpose of hedgelaying, and its vital role in farmland and countryside management
- How hedges support biodiversity and deliver incredible ecological and wildlife benefits
- Safe use of hand tools and how to use each effectively
- Laying, staking, and binding techniques in the traditional Montgomeryshire style
This course is suitable for complete beginners — no experience or equipment required. Simply bring warm outdoor clothing, sturdy footwear, and a good pair of gardening or leather gloves.
Whether you are a farmer, land manager, conservationist or are interested in learning a new skill, this course will provide you with the skills and confidence to begin hedgelaying yourself.
